What motivates you to do this work?
Through studying public health, I have developed an interest in self-efficacy and in how support systems can help individuals feel empowered to manage their health decisions and behaviors. I hope to be a medical provider in the future, and as chronic disease becomes more common, it is important to consider how patients’ lives outside of the hospital impact their ability to manage their health. I am excited about how this research can inform interventions to reduce health inequities and to expand my understanding of public health research processes!
