Alyssa joined the team in 2025. She has a BA in Sociology and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. She is particularly focused on how ascribed statuses shape health outcomes and the ways in which research can inform policies aimed at reducing these inequities.

What motivates you to do this work?

I am motivated by a commitment to advancing health equity and the desire to further access to comprehensive, affordable care. My interest lies in the reduction of systemic barriers and deepening my understanding of the policy mechanisms that can dismantle them. By strengthening my research skills and focusing on the ways in which social structures contribute to unequal health outcomes, I hope to contribute to evidence-based policies that meaningfully improve population health.
