Skyla joined the team in January 2026. She earned a BA in Sociology and Gender Studies from Indiana University and an MSW from the University of Michigan School of Social Work.
What motivates you to do this work?
As a social worker, I have seen how limited access to basic needs and costs related to transportation, housing, and healthcare can prevent safety and well-being for many members of our community. I am interested in research that addresses these vital needs and provides innovative solutions to support and uplift communities long-term.
